nr 39 was the house of Theodorus Clemens and nr 42 was the house of Wilhelmus Gerhardus, and Johannes Gerhardus lived there as well till his death in 1970.

After the death if Julia Dijkstra in 1974, the house on nr 39 was again split, in 39A and 39b, Theodorus Clemens lived in the left half, and Wilhelmus Johannes still lives in the right half.

On the right number 39-41, on the left side you can see the part that belonged to the Blacksmith (Bernardus Offenberg), also visible in the picture are Maria Sophia (right of tree) and Johanna Offenberg (in dooropening) they were hat seamstress and the daughters of Hermannus Petrus Offenberg.

All able men were called to serve in the military due to the pending war with Germany in 1940.
Theodorus Offenberg at mobilisation in 1939. All able men were called to serve in the military due to the pending war with Germany in 1940.
He ended up fighting on the "Grebbelinie" in 1940, and was wounded during the battles, then was made a prisoner of war and deported to "Kamp Luckenwalde" in Germany. When he returned he had lost a lot of weight and was very weak. The rest of the war years were very difficult, as for everyone.
